Spanish pop/rock singer, guitarist, and composer José Ignacio Lapido (born José Ignacio García Lapido) got involved in the local rock scene when he joined a band called Al-Dar in 1980, issuing the hit single "Somos Nuevos" in 1981. That same year, 091 was formed, debuting with Cementerio De Automoviles in 1984, soon, becoming one of the major numbers in Spain. In 1999 José Ignacio Lapido made his debut as a solo artist with Ladridos Del Perro Magico, released by local label Big Bang Records, awarded by Formula Uno for best album of the year. The talented singer/songwriter was voted one of the celebrities of the century by local newspaper Ideal.
