After learning to play the drums as a teenager, Joey Gregorash formed the Mongrels in 1967 and then hosted a Canadian TV show, Young as You Are. He signed with Polydor as a solo act in 1970 and recorded several popular singles during the early '70s. His 1971 album, North Country Funk, also proved to be a success, but Gregorash stopped recording in the mid-'70s. A comeback attempt failed in 1987 when he released "Together" and an album of the same name.
