With the 1995 release of her first mini-album entitled Sweet Grape Sugar Beats, Jenka showcased her apparent influence of Swedish pop that hailed the likes of Abba and The Cardigans. Even though it was exclusively released in her native Japan, word got out to Sweden's Vibrafon Records, whom quickly signed and put out Jenka's follow-up single "Muddy Muddy Murmur" in 1997. With an additional complex of sophisticated arrangements and personal lyrics, Vibrafon Records contributed to Jenka's first full-length be. in 1998.
