Artist Biography

Formed in London at the end of the 80s by Chris Spence, Steve Dinsdale, Ged Murphy and Steve C., the Honeysmugglers struggled to loosen the retrogressive tag awarded to them by virtue of their bold, Hammond organ-infested sound. In reality, the quartet were far more contemporary than most people gave them credit for, fusing 60s melodic instincts with the fluent rhythms of the 90s to create a boisterously tuneful panorama. After singles on Non-Fiction and Ultimate Records, however, the Honeysmugglers split up acrimoniously in 1991, without ever releasing an album.
