Singer-songwriter Peter Galloway led this engaging Los Angeles-based sextet whose good-time style invoked the carefree quality associated with the early Lovin’ Spoonful. Jon Lind (vocals), Kenny Altman (lead guitar), Murray Weinstock (keyboards), Jerry Burnham (bass/flute) and Pete Heywood (drums) completed the line-up featured on the Fifth Avenue Band’s debut album, but despite an undoubted charm, its anachronistic qualities found few commercial favours. Galloway subsequently formed Ohio Knox, a short-lived unit which also featured drummer Dallas Taylor, formerly of Crosby, Stills, Nash And Young. The vocalist then embarked on a solo career.
