Artist Biography

This duo of Swedish sisters made a substantial impact in UK dance clubs in the early 90s with two popular house tracks, ‘Alright’ and ‘Body Action’. The originators, Dianne and Jeanette Söderholm, came from a strong musical background, and were the first act to be signed to the innovative Swedish dance label Swemix Records in 1989. The sisters’ work combines sweet, harmonious garage vocals over the traditional sound of their label, which has long been acclaimed for its ‘deep house’ releases. However, their efforts have earned them scant respect in their native country: ‘House is not that big here. Tempos are very slow. We’re making music for other countries’, they told UK dance magazines in 1993. Their debut album brought them their greatest domestic success, with the attendant single ‘Big Bad World’ becoming a minor national hit. A follow-up set was produced by StoneBridge, the man credited with revitalising the career of fellow dance artist Robin S. More recently they have recorded with Martin White (aka Max Martin), Denniz Pop and Douglas Carr - the latter two famous for their work with fellow Swedish exports Dr. Alban and Leila K.
