Ambient sculptors based in north London, England, whose albums have brought many admiring glances via their organic use of animal and wildlife sounds, interfacing with experimental technology. Contrary to what might have been expected of the dance scene in the 90s, Toop is a well-known author and writer for The Times and The Face, as well as being one of hip-hop’s most powerful advocates and chroniclers. He first performed with Eastley as far back as 1971, after meeting at Alexandra Palace Art College in the mid-60s. They have been working on atmosphere-music ever since - Toop releasing several solo albums for Brian Eno’s label, as well as taking a role in experimental pop band the Flying Lizards.
