Upon their 1996 debut split EP with Magnatone, The Cretins displayed their immature, three chord energy of Ramones influenced pop-punk on record. Consisting of Metal Murf (guitars/ vocals), A.J. Cretin (drums/ vocals) and Gregg Queef (bass), the trio followed with a number of comparisons to The Queers as they released their second EP I Feel Better Already in 1996. After a US tour and several weeks of Metal Murf filling in as the Queers second guitarist throughout 1997, The Cretins managed to put together their first full-length We're Gonna Get So Laid the following year.
