Comprised of members Matt Roberts (vocals, lead guitar), Dave Steffen (drums), Jason Nelson (guitars, vocals), and Anthony "Ski" Oslzweski (bass), and hailing from Rockford, IL, the hook-heavy melodic rock quartet Aunt Flossie originally formed in the mid-'90s. After debuting the group at a local pizza parlor, Aunt Flossie began to create a buzz and the Janesville, WI-based radio station WMJB 105.9FM began playing some of the group's early demos. Sensing that greater things were in store for the band if they relocated to a bigger city, the quartet moved to Austin, TX, in October of 1995. It wasn't long before the Wisconsin indie label Spank Monkey asked the group to record their debut album, which was issued in March of 1998. Their sophomore effort, Fill the Void (produced by Tom Morris [Seven Mary Three]), was released in March of 2001 on Crown Records. Aunt Flossie has also branched out of their regional Midwest/Texas following, lining up shows in Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
