Artist Biography

Although this UK pop vocalist is relegated to the one-hit wonder category, her unusual vocal delivery of the Doors’ hit ‘Riders On The Storm’ created considerable interest and made the UK Top 30 in 1983. The brooding, breathy vocal style was used to great effect on this and subsequent releases. Her backing musicians included Robin Langridge (keyboards), Steve Greetham (bass), Chris Jarrett (guitar) and Jim Dvorak (trumpet). The hybrid of jazz, rock and reggae consistently produced by Wally Brill found only a loyal coterie of fans. Though little was heard of Lamb in the mainstream press following 1988’s Justice, she has remained a popular live artist and in the mid-90s recorded a new studio album, which was released in the UK in 1998.
