Artist Biography

This semi-electric band was formed by numerous musicians specializing largely in traditional country dance music and song. Their 1983 debut United Friends took its name from the public house in Ninfield, Sussex, England, where the group used to play. In 1982, as the Catfield Steamers, they recorded two albums for the KPM music library in London, for promotional use by radio and television. The first album concentrated on the music of Wales and England, while the second covered Ireland and Scotland. The band was still entertaining their audiences in the new millennium, playing with flair and fun.
