A 1950s album called Flamenco Fire was credited to Montoya, de Alicante & Flamenco Ensemble, which was rather confusing, as the record consisted of material by two groups. One of the groups was led by singer El Pili, although the other musicians in his ensemble are unidentified in the liner notes of the CD reissue; the other group was comprised of singer Enrique Montoya, guitarist El Nino de Alicante, and dancer Mario Alvarez, with Anita Ramos on castanets. Whatever the billing, what made it to disc is very good, spirited, and taut flamenco, whether the emphasis falls upon the rapid guitar playing, stomping rhythm of the feet, or the dramatic, emotional vocals.
