Formed after a band called Dunas broke up in 1990, Aberrojos quickly got involved in the Argentinean rock scene. In 1993, former Sui Generis Rinaldo Rafanelli produced the band's debut album, called Por Unas Monedas. By the end of that same year, Aberrojos had the opportunity to open for Paul McCartney at Buenos Aires' River Plate Stadium. In 1996, the group released Fasostenido, followed by Partido Revancha y Bueno in 1997.
