AllMusic Review by

Sathima Bea Benjamin mostly emphasizes spiritual-sounding ballads on this date (which are leavened by a couple of more swinging tracks), giving plenty of emotion to her intelligent lyrics. On the out-of-print LP (which was made available in the U.S. by Black Hawk), she is accompanied by pianist Kenny Barron, bassist Buster Williams and drummer Billy Higgins for three originals (including "Lady Day") and a trio of standards ("Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child," "Indian Summer" and "Song of Songs"). One of her better albums.
