Featuring a roster of songwriters including Julien Ribot, Tomoki Kanda, Arto Lindsay, Momus, Add N To (X), Tahiti 80, and Olivia Tremor Control, Karie's third proper album should be a great listen, but again she seems to take a back seat to some great arrangements. For example, "Je Dormais Sous la Neige," from French producer Julien Ribot, stalls when Karie is singing, but actually turns into a beautifully arranged progression that you don't want to end. The collaborations with Add N To (X) meander, and are considerably weaker than their own material. And Momus' "Pygmalism" is just awful, the best ammunition for those who think Karie has no range. Best tracks here are the two Olivia Tremor Control-written songs, "Do You Know the Time?" and "Metaphors," which also appeared on her Once Upon a Time EP. Otherwise, this is an easy album to forget, even while you're listening to it.
