AllMusic Review by

As could be expected from the title, most of the selections on Those Great World War II Songs are military-themed, taken from Crosby's Kraft Music Hall shows of the early '40s. Unlike LaserLight's WWII Radio Broadcasts series, which issued complete broadcasts, this set includes the best songs on the first disc, while the second disc includes two complete broadcasts (with guest stars Phil Silvers and Bette Davis). Among the selections are "Yankee Doodle Dandy," "White Cliffs of Dover," "Comin in on a Wing and a Prayer," "What Do You Do in the Infantry?," and "Song of the Bombardiers," and while this set isn't for everyone, those fans who don't want to delve too deeply into the war broadcasts get a perfect overview of this important period in Crosby's career.
