Released by the Reflections record label, The Pipes of Scotland is a 19-song collection of various pipe-and-drum bands with occasional orchestral accompaniment. Leading off with the mournful "Afore Ye Go" by the Pipes and Drums and Regimental Band of the Royal Highland Fusiliers, the collection picks up the pace with several traditional Scottish tunes and medleys of battle marches played by some of the world's foremost pipe-and-drum ensembles like the Royal Scots Dragoon Band and the Black Watch Band. Highlights include the First Battalion Scots Guards' renditions of "Skye Boat Song" and their medley of the tunes "George M. McIntyre/Holiday in Inverallan/That Jig/The Hawk/Kirsten Campbell/The Poacher." Of course, no collection would be complete without the pipe-and-drum classic "Amazing Grace," which is featured here played by the Royal Scots Dragoon Band.
