An EP containing four songs, two of which, "The Power That I Now Have" and "Secondhand Furniture," are otherwise unreleased, this record chronicles the Go-Betweens' appearance on the John Peel radio show in October 1984, just after the release of their third album, Spring Hill Fair. (The remaining tracks are "Five Words," from that album, and "Rare Breed," then just released as the non-LP B-side of the single, "Bachelor Kisses.") The simple production and matter-of-fact performances of these songs make the band sound more than usual like its immediate influences, early Talking Heads and Gang of Four. Completists will need this disc, but even they should try not to overpay for a record containing less than 14 minutes of music.
