In 1998 the Simitar label, a division of Warner Special Products, released several budget-priced discs featuring number one hits from the '60s, '70s and '80s, loosely based around such themes as Rock It Up, Lovin' Feelings and Party On. Each disc presents the original version of these popular singles on a 16-track CD. Number Ones: Soul on Fire highlights include "Car Wash" (Rose Royce), "Ain't Nothin' Goin' on but the Rent" (Gwen Guthrie), "Flash Light" (Parliament) and "Show and Tell" (Al Wilson). Despite minor packaging flaws, Simitar's Number Ones is a decent budget-line series.
