King Ivory's '90s comeback album, The Bitch Done Quit Me, is a loose, rocking collection of R&B and blues that ranges from New Orleans R&B to New York jump blues. There's a number of fellow Houston musicians supporting him, including a horn section, and the band plays the good-time tunes with a carefree, fun energy. The Bitch Done Quite Me doesn't have anything truly remarkable but it sounds good and it shows that there still is life left in King Ivory, nearly 20 years after his prime.
