An interesting, but not essential solo offering from Weddings, Parties, Anything accordionist Mark Wallace. Actually, the album also features other members of the band (Michael Thomas and Marcus Schlinter), as well as Jen Anderson (of the Black Sorrows), and is not unlike Weddings, Parties, Anything's style of music. However, this is an instrumental accordion album, featuring a number of cover versions ("Cherish," "Back on the Chain Gang," and the singalong medley from Trains, Planes, Automobiles, featuring the "Theme from the Flintstones"), and some originals. The music is well played, but the joke starts to wear thin midway through the album. Also of interest is an accordion "duet" between Mark and his mother Joy Wallace on the cover version of "The Dark Island." This album is recommended to Weddings, Parties, Anything collectors, and accordion fans. All others could probably pass on this one.
