David Lowery is producer and full-fledged member on the first F.S.K. album to be widely distributed in the U.S., although he's only involved as a writer on a couple of tunes. Its appearance on Flying Fish, a label usually associated with pure folk acts, is explained to some degree by the rootsiness of the material. This is the group at their most beer-swilling, offering a kind of Bavarian folk-rock that stresses slightly eccentric variations of polka-cum-western swing. Sung mostly in German, it may be too odd for the folkies, and not as far-out and imaginative as their alternative press clips have led some to believe.
