AllMusic Review by

Vol. 17 of the Didn't it Blow Your Mind series spans 1973 through 1976, and includes some of the most unforgettable moments from mid-'70s AM radio. The groundbreaking Gamble & Huff songwriting/production team is well represented with tracks from Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes ("Bad Luck, Pt. 1"), the O'Jays ("I Love Music, Pt. 1") and People's Choice ("Do It Any Way You Wanna"). Career-defining moments from Tower of Power ("So Very Hard to Go"), the Ohio Players ("Love Rollercoaster") and the underrated Blue Magic ("Three Ring Circus") also spike this fervently upbeat collection, highlighted in the lineup's center position by War's off-handedly transcendent "Why Can't We Be Friends?"
