Prior to the advent of the CD, this two-LP set was the definitive Charlie Christian release and it is still quite impressive. The great electric guitarist is heard on most of his more famous recordings with the Benny Goodman Sextet (including "Seven Come Eleven," "Air Mail Special," "Royal Garden Blues" and "Breakfast Feud"), on his two features with the Goodman Orchestra ("Honeysuckle Rose" and "Air Mail Special"), with The Metronome All-Stars, leading a jam session that also features Jerry Jerome on tenor (the only selections not yet reissued on CD) and at a practice with the other members of BG's Sextet in which they came up with some hot riffs on the ad-lib "Waitin' for Benny." It's a well-conceived two-fer.
