AllMusic Review by

The 1985 edition of Rhino U.K.'s budget-priced Smash Hits series contains several artists represented on multiple volumes, including Echo & the Bunnymen, Sister Sledge, Bronski Beat, Chaka Khan, ZZ Top, Foreigner, and Blancmange. If you're attempting to make your collection more diverse, this series wouldn't be the way to do it, but for those who happen to need several songs on this specific disc, it will come in handy. It certainly does contain some of the year's biggest hits: Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is," a-ha's "Take on Me," Howard Jones' "Things Can Only Get Better," and Simply Red's "Money's Too Tight (To Mention)."
