AllMusic Review by

Cisco Ferreira's first full-length for the likeminded hard techno fans at Berlin's Tresor Records is on the short side, but there's little letting up through the course of these eight tracks and 40 minutes. Ferreira favors dark, pummeling, high-intensity techno with a few nods to old-school electro, and that's the style that leads the way here on the highlights "Hi Jack," "Temptation," and "The Vault" (the latter paced later on by some great acid effects). Like the best in the business (Dave Clarke, Jeff Mills, Ben Sims), Ferreira makes a virtue out of being simplistic, and while seemingly every track turns to some furious hi-hat action at some point, there really are a lot of subtleties to these short blasts of hardcore techno. The only way it could've sounded better was as a mix album. [A double-disc edition includes ten extra tracks, comprising the Advent's Sound Sketches series for Tresor between 1998 and 2000.]
