AllMusic Review by

Husband and wife Johnny Wright and Kitty Wells didn't record as a duo very often relative to the length of their careers, but made at least a couple of albums for Decca in the late '60s and early '70s. Sing Heartwarming Gospel Songs is the second such album, and finds the pair treading familiar ground on a platter of sacred songs backed by the Wright Family, a vocal group comprised of their semi-famous offspring, Bobby Wright and Ruby Wright. Old-time religious music like "God Put a Rainbow in the Clouds" joins more contemporary material such as Merle Haggard's "Jesus Take a Hold" and Don Gibson's "There's a Big Wheel," performed with presence and abundant country gospel appeal by these veteran performers.
