Once again teaming up with Perfecto Records, Seb Fontaine unleashes another of his highly acclaimed mix CDs to a public eager to hear more from the London DJ. The first disc borders on the progressive house tip but dips its fingers into tech-house territory quite generously -- especially with the Aril Brihka/Detroit techno keyboard stabs of Flatline's "Are You a Freak" and the Roland Clarke/Powers That Be "Planet Rock," which employs a shout-out similar to the house that jack built all of those years ago. The surprise of the first disc comes with the inclusion of a drum'n'bass track courtesy of Matrix and Goldtrix, which ends the session on an energetic but mellow note. The second disc is where Fontaine returns to his progressive house roots and reminds everyone why he is one of the top progressive DJs in the world. Fontaine constructs a twisted roller coaster of demented buildups and anthems that could send the crowd forward against the glass trying to trainspot and move closer to the bassbins. It's a bit more eclectic than his previous mix CD endeavors, and it's a testament to show how far he has challenged himself to push his musical tastes and boundaries beyond what's expected of him already.
