This French import is a disappointment. Despite a title promising an overview of African percussion, the CD focuses entirely on the Diola tribe in Dakar. There is an excerpt of a wedding which lasts over 15 minutes; a clip of a Sengalese wrestling match clocking in at over 30 minutes; as well as a two-minute clip of two women stomping on millet seeds to prepare them for use in cooking. This is not a good listen for someone curious about African drums. Avoid this collection unless you are a scientist interested in anthropologic research.
