AllMusic Review by

This Rhino collection repackages five of Scottish soul-infused rock & roll singer Frankie Miller's records for Chrysalis. Strangely enough, this set begins with his second album for the label, Frankie Miller's High Life. Since there are no liner notes, the exclusion of 1973's Once in a Blue Moon -- which features Brinsley Schwarz as his backing band -- is unexplained. The included albums are High Life (1973), The Rock (1975), Full House (1977), Double Trouble (1978), and Falling in Love (1979); 1980's excellent Easy Money is absent. While the price here is certainly attractive, it should be noted that fans -- or anyone at all interested in Miller's greatest years -- would do far better by checking out ...That's Who! The Complete Chrysalis Recordings (1973-1980), a four-disc set that adds the two excluded albums to the five featured here (including the original mix of High Life), as well as three singles. It literally sells for only a few dollars more. No doubt the music that is included on Original Album Series is mostly first-rate, but what's left off is easily as important.
