AllMusic Review by

The 12th album in the Red Hot Organization's compilation series, Onda Sonora: Red Hot & Lisbon is a musical travelogue of Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Goa, and Brazil. The album brings some of the finest musicians from those countries together with acts from the U.S. and the U.K., and features David Byrne and Caetano Veloso's collaboration "Dreamworld: Marco de Canaveses," k.d. lang's "Fado Hilario," and Antonio Chaino's "Variacoes Em Mi Menor," along with tracks by Madredeus, Arto Lindsay, and Durutti Column. As with the other albums in the Red Hot series, Onda Sonora: Red Hot & Lisbon's proceeds go toward the Red Hot Organization's worldwide AIDS education and prevention efforts.
