On the Speakers licensed their eponymous debut EP to Universal in early 2004, resulting in this alternate cover art version of the recording. The recorded material is identical to the version released by San Francisco indie 17 Reasons in 2003, but the larger distribution is probably a good thing, as Speakers shows some real promise. Led by ex-Creeper Lagoon frontman Ian Sefchick, On the Speakers present six guitar-heavy songs falling between the scraggly side of Supergrass and the melodic sway and catchiness of Eels or the Killers.
