AllMusic Review by

Originally released by MPS as Love And Sunshine, this 1974 Lp (leased domestically by Pausa) finds pianist Monty Alexander and his quartet (with guitarist Ernest Ranglin, bassist Eberhard Weber and drummer Kenny Clare) uplifting such unlikely songs as "Summer Of '42," "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life," "Feel Like Making Love" and "On A Clear Day." Actually the interpretations are quite boppish (as is Milt Jackson's blues "S.K.J." and "Now's The Time") and swings hard. Virtually all of the consistent Monty Alexander's recordings are worth picking up by straightahead jazz collectors and his series for MPS ranks with some of the best work of his career.
