AllMusic Review by

The good folks at K-Tel don't lie--this compilation boasts U.S. hits from throughout the 1960s, bookended by surf kids Jan & Dean's immortal (and gloriously politically incorrect) "Surf City," where there are "two girls for every guy," and BJ Thomas's 1969 hit from BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID, "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head." Former R&B band John Fred And His Playboy Band heralded the bubblegum craze in 1967 with "Judy in Disguise," while Lou Christie's stratospheric vocals still amaze and delight on his 1966 hit, "Lightning Strikes."
