After leaving Los Sabrosos del Merengue, Puerto Rican singer/songwriter Joseph Fonseca recorded Noches de Fantasia, his debut album as a solo artist, including different versions of its main title performed in merengue and Latin pop flamenco-inflected styles. This record features his first single hit, a salsa titled "Jardín Prohibido," and Tropical up-tempo "Bomba," based on the Latin hit popularized worldwide by Bolivian Azul Azul and Argentine King Africa. Noches de Fantasía ends with a pop/ballad version of "Jardín Prohibido."
