Here's a ten-track collection of romantic ballads by the Velvet Fog from his Columbia period. There isn't much to say except that for the price, there isn't a loser in the bunch, the sound is reasonably good, and Tormé was in fine form during these years -- was he ever not in fine form? The best picks are his "I Remember Suzanne," Hoagy Carmichael's "The Nearness of You," and Leslie Bricusse's classic "Once in a Lifetime."
