Love Me With All Your Heart finds Johnny Rodriguez moving further toward pop, with the Top Ten title track being a case in point; the lovely, string-laden Spanish performance of an old Ray Charles Singers hit sounds more like Julio Iglesias than Johnny Rodriguez. Barry Gibb and Randy Newman each contribute a song, and "Ramblin' Rose," though country, is associated with Nat King Cole. Rodriguez sprinkles straight country like "I Need It Now," in which he sings in a higher register than usual, between his crossover efforts, but such traditional fare is scarce. Despite the unflattering cover photo that makes Rodriguez's neck his most prominent feature, Love Me With All Your Heart is a good album, assuming the listener doesn't mind his stylistic departures.
