This single was released in the winter of 1995, and is the perfect kind or material for a band like Jars of Clay. Rock critics, devout fans, and even the band members themselves have struggled with the inherent conflict between pop music and religious belief. The songs in this EP are all explicitly of a spiritual nature, so the listener can focus more on the performance without questioning the band's motives. The only track that is lacking here is "Little Drummer Boy (Grinch Mix)." The others will be popular with Jars of Clay fans, though most rock fans will prefer the David Bowie/Bing Crosby duet from the 1970s. However, this release is not intended for everyone. Just the devout. And for them, this is the perfect Christmas gift.
