Les Sexareenos play a down and dirty brand of garage rock, with a definite emphasis on dirty. Even the sound quality on Live! In the Bed is muddy -- the disc sounds as though it was recorded in a closet with one muffled microphone. As for the music, listeners that have any knowledge of '50s and '60s rock will find most of the riffs here familiar. Les Sexareenos make up for their lack of polish and originality with boundless enthusiasm and a cheeky sense of humor, as they blast through 14 tracks in just over 30 minutes. After all the ponderous, plodding music of the grunge and post-grunge eras, it's refreshing to hear a band that realizes that rock & roll is supposed to be fun. For garage rock fans, highlights on Live! In the Bed include the call and response of "Low Low Low" and "Wild Wild Wild," and the obscure Mickey Lee Lane cover "Hey Sah-Lo-Ney" (previously covered with some success by '60s British Invasion band the Action).
