AllMusic Review by

An excellent trad jazz cornetist who has recorded far too little through the years, Jim Goodwin is heard in a variety of settings on this LP, all but one selection being from 1977-1978. Goodwin duets with pianist Burt Bales on "Melancholy Baby"; and takes a rare piano solo on "You're a Lucky Guy"; and jams with such top musicians as pianist Ray Skjelbred, guitarist Marty Grosz, bassist Mike Duffy, and soprano saxophonist Dick Hadlock, among others. Fun music, with the highlights including "I've Got My Fingers Crossed," "A Sailboat in the Moonlight," and "The Love Nest," but this locally released album will be difficult to acquire.
