AllMusic Review by

The seventh in a 12-LP series documenting Bechet's 1945 quintet during its long stint in Boston finds New Orleans-veteran Peter Bocage joining the band after Bunk Johnson proved to be too unreliable and youngster Johnny Windhurst had filled in in the interim quite successfully. Bocage, who had probably only been playing part-time and had a quiet melodic style, was an odd choice and was predictably overshadowed by Bechet in this ensemble-oriented music. Recommended to true Bechet fanatics, although these LPs from this collector's label will be difficult to locate.
