This mini-album/EP is chock full of radio friendly ear candy, whether it's the band talking about getting their vast residuals from airplay and playing the industry game on Compact Disc, Radio or the riffs underlying it. Lead singer Doug Forbes and lead guitarist Chris Langston conduct some beautiful melodies at times, but it's often a trial by fire. Thankfully, they haven't sold their souls to the corporate devils just yet, as they veer toward production-laced Goo Goo Dolls polish on Pet Sitter but know when to get back to basics. Forbes seems to take pride in the fact he can write cute lyrics for pop songs. This Electric Session is haphazard to a fault, with a silly change-of-pace bridge and melody. But the alt-radio-friendly pop in Big Red Bicycle is catchy at times to a fault. Fairly inspiring, despite the silly props added on or the phone message intro on Dead People.
