The Diva of Southern Soul is in excellent form here on nine clawing tracks loaded with zest and appeal. The mixture contains mid-tempo jaunts such as "Let the Funk Flow," the hard-hitting "Home Girl," a classy blues digression "So Good to Be Bad" (accompanied by a male vocalist), and a melting rendition of "Your Time to Cry." "Lonely Woman on the Loose" finds Lynn White at home on a scandalous beat-ballad sung in the creamiest alto south of the Mason-Dixon line.
