The two virtuosoes clarinetist Buddy DeFranco and vibraphonist Terry Gibbs always inspire each other. Gibbs is such a hyper player and DeFranco can play very fast with no difficulty, so they make for a perfectly compatible team. Most of their joint projects have been released under Gibbs' name but on this occasion, DeFranco received first billing. With pianist John Campbell, bassist Todd Coolman and drummer Gerry Gibbs forming a powerhouse rhythm section, DeFranco and Gibbs romp on such material as "Holiday for Strings," "Seven Come Eleven," "Carioca," Bud Powell's "Parisian Thoroughfare" and Gibbs' "Fickle Fingers." Joyous music.
