Madacy's Highway Rock series throws together ten loosely related tunes, slaps a cheesy photo on the cover and hopes for the best. Luckily, most of the songs they chose are high quality '70s and '80s rock and pop, so if you are in the market for a disc to keep the natives from getting too restless for about half-an-hour of a road trip you might try to scare up an entry at your local used CD emporium or friendly neighborhood truck stop. Rock This Town is about as scattered as leaves in November with its strange mix of artists (Jim Croce, Pat Benatar, the Stray Cats, .38 Special, and Joe Walsh) and sounds that don't seem to synch up no matter which way you look. Still, for someone who wants a half-hour of "rockin" tunes, it might fit the bill in a pinch.
