It is true that From the Golden Age of Rock & Roll: Hits for an Oldies Dance Party contains "original artists, original recordings," as advertised on the cover of this budget-priced collection. However, it's not all "hits," as the title indicates. Sure, it's has its fair share of popular favorites, but some songs, such as the Passions' "Just to Be With You," Bernadette Carroll's "Party Girl" and Dean & Jean's "Tra La La La Suzy" aren't as familiar as the rest. Still, chestnuts like the Chiffons' "He's So Fine," the Mystics' "Hushabye," Ernie Maresca's "Shout, Shout, Knock Yourself Out," Dion's "The Wanderer" and the Jarmels' "A Little Bit of Soap" make it worth the budget price for many casual oldies fans.
