AllMusic Review by

Evolución consists of a collection of 12 hits by different Latin pop/rock acts, most of them rescued from the late '80s and 1990s, including "La Flaca" (The Skinny Girl) by Jarabe de Palo, the Spanish group led by talented singer/songwriter Pau Donés. The Puerto Rican Fiel à la Vega brings "Desde el Comienzo" (From the Beginning), while "Para No Verte Mas" is delivered by the Argentinian Latin ska/reggae band la Mosca Tsé Tsé. After "Atrapados en la Red" by the now disbanded Tam Tam Go!, the Chilean los Prisioneros join in with one of their first hits, a song called "Sexo." Evolución's pop side comes with Aleks Syntek's "Tu Necesitas" (You Need), "Fiesta" (Party) by Sentidos Opuestos, and "Lamento Boliviano" (Bolivian Moan) by Argentinean Enanitos Verdes. Ex-Heroes del Silencio Enrique Bunbury performs "Extranjero" (Foreign) and "Avalancha." Los Pericos contribute a reggae number titled "Sin Cadenas" (No Chains), and the Mexican Víctimas del Doctor Cerebro offer up one of their best, the Latin rock "Esqueleto."
