Nana, older sister of Dori and daughter of the great Dorival, is a singer's singer underrated by the public even in Brazil but a heroine to her peers. She has a jazz-tinged maple-syrup voice -- smooth with a touch of smoke -- and immaculate timing. Some of the cuts here have the kind of lush string backings beloved of many Brazilian musicians, but she is a class act and no word of a lie.
