AllMusic Review by

Another two-disc set of club-oriented R&B from the late '80s and early '90s -- a neglected era -- the fourth volume of Dance Classics: New Jack Swing is heavy on alternate and extended mixes of singles, both popular and forgotten. Among the highlights and most notable cuts here are Wreckx-N-Effect's "New Jack Swing [Original 12" Mix]," After 7's "Can't Stop [Extended Fun Mix]," Babyface's "Mary Mack [12" Mix]," and Guy's "Spend the Night [Extended Version]." Album versions of Jeff Redd's "I Found Lovin'" (featuring Mary J. Blige on background vocals, recorded before she released her debut album), SWV's "You're the One," and Bubba's "I Like Your Style" are also included.
