Country Tucker compiles tracks from the Marshall Tucker Band's mid-'70s heyday. As the title implies, all of the songs included on this collection lean toward the group's country roots -- many of them, including "Heard It In A Love Song," were minor country hits. In fact, Country Tucker works as a greatest hits collectioon, since it does feature pop hits like "Fire on the Mountain" (presented in its original single version) and "Can't You See" that nevertheless demonstrate strong country leanings. In short, it's a useful introduction and a nearly definitive compilation that should satiate the desires of most casual fans.
